TapLook is pleased to announce a planned collaboration with Mount Sinai Eldercare in Hialeah, Florida, to bring an uplifting Hair & Nail Self-Care Day to older adults served by the center. The initiative was inspired by outreach from Kevin Perez, Recreational Therapist/Activity Coordinator, whose program supports adults aged 55+ living with chronic illness or disability and helps them remain active and engaged in the community.

The Self-Care Day will transform a space at the center into a welcoming, salon-style experience where participants can receive gentle grooming and pampering designed specifically for seniors. TapLook’s mobile team will provide senior-friendly nail care, light hairstyling and trims, and supportive companionship throughout the visit. Services will be adapted to individual mobility and health needs, with an emphasis on dignity, safety, and comfort.
Mount Sinai Eldercare, located at 6050 W 20th Ave, 2nd Floor, Hialeah, FL, serves a diverse community of older adults who benefit from structured social activities and therapeutic recreation. By bringing high-quality self-care on site, the partnership aims to reduce barriers to access and deliver direct emotional and psychological benefits boosting confidence, enhancing self-esteem, and creating moments of joy.
“Small, thoughtful services can make a big difference,” said a TapLook coordination lead. “Our teams are trained to work in clinical and community settings, and we’re honored to support Kevin and the Mount Sinai Eldercare staff in creating a day that feels celebratory, respectful, and restorative.”
Event planning will prioritize smooth logistics and minimal disruption to the center’s routine. TapLook will coordinate with Kevin Perez to develop an appointment schedule, set up a clean and accessible service area, and provide clear pre-event communications to staff and participants. All equipment and sanitation protocols will follow TapLook’s senior-care standards, including single-use files and buffers, medical-grade disinfection for tools, and careful consultation for participants with health considerations.
The partners are also exploring options for community outreach, volunteer participation, and student involvement, allowing aspiring beauty and wellness practitioners to learn about senior-centered service while contributing meaningful support. Depending on interest and impact, the Self-Care Day may be expanded into a series of sessions to serve additional participants.
This collaboration reflects TapLook’s mission to make compassionate, professional beauty and wellness care accessible wherever people live and gather homes, hospitals, and community centers alike. For Mount Sinai Eldercare, it aligns with a whole-person approach that values social connection, self-expression, and the confidence that comes from feeling well-groomed and cared for.
